Start Write Now

About

My name is Eamon Mack. I’m an Irish guy. My early career was in IT, I was an application developer for a finance company.

I left that job in 2005, and retrained as a teacher of English as a foreign language, and moved so Heredia, Costa Rica. I worked there for over 2 years, before moving to the Pacific coast, still in Costa Rica in a place called Santa Teresa. I travelled through Central America and Cuba for a few months, and I’m now based in Ennis, Co. Clare, Ireland.

I’ve decided to try and dedicate myself to writing. It’s a flexible career in terms of location, and I can see that other people are making money at it, so why can’t I?

The only problem is that I don’t yet know how to do it. So I’m learning. I’m finding out new things day by day, so I’ve decided that now that I know how to set up a blog that I’ll write about my journey. So if you want to join me why don’t you Start Write Now.

  2. Hi Eamon,

How’s it going with the writing? I hope you’ve been busy in the last year since you started this blog building your writing skills!

Writing can be a great profession, although I’m afraid you won’t make the kind of money you did as an application developer. The important thing is that you’re taking it seriously. All great writers started out by taking the craft seriously, just like you.

You might want to check out my website, where I write essays on the craft of fiction writing, at: http://victoriamixon.com

    Good luck!

  3. Thanks Victoria,

It’s good to hear from you. I’ve let this blog die a little bit, I’m afraid. I moved from Ireland to Korea last year, and am now working at a university in Daejeon. I’m hoping to get back to my sadly neglected writing shortly.

I wish you all the best with your writing.

    Thanks, Eamon
